Urgent Action Required – Australia Must Stand Against israeli War CrimesAustralian children are in grave danger

Dear Prime Minister Albanese and Foreign Minister Wong

We are writing to you with absolute urgency about the horrors unfolding in Palestine. The illegal occupation and escalating violence by Israeli forces in the West Bank can’t be ignored any longer. As elected reps of a country that claims to uphold international law, you have a moral and legal responsibility to take action.

An Australian-Palestinian child in Tulkarm, Palestine, was recently attacked by Israeli forces while simply walking on the street. Soldiers opened fire and threw firebombs, forcing her to flee for her life. She was lucky to escape, but she had to hide until her parents – risking their own lives on streets crawling with Israeli soldiers – could get to her and bring her home. This should never have happened. If the Australian government had stepped up and fought for the lives of these Australian kids, this terror could have been avoided. This is terrorism. This is ethnic cleansing.

This same family has already been through hell. Just two weeks ago, their son had an Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) soldier point a gun at him on his way to school. This is what Palestinian children face every day—threatened, terrorised, and treated as less than human.

Are you waiting for more Australians to die? Was Zomi Frankcom’s life not enough? How many more innocent lives need to be lost before you take action?

Australia cannot keep turning a blind eye to these blatant violations of international law, nor can it continue to tolerate Israel’s defiance of the International Court of Justice (ICJ). We demand immediate action:

  1. Full compliance with the ICJ ruling, including an official condemnation of Israel’s actions in the West Bank.
  2. Public recognition that Israel is violating international law and committing war crimes.
  3. Immediate, targeted sanctions against Israel for its occupation and apartheid policies.
  4. Diplomatic pressure for the immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from the West Bank.
  5. An immediate and total arms embargo, along with the cessation of all defence cooperation with Israel.

Anyone saying that speaking out is a waste of time is insulting those risking everything to resist oppression. The real failure would be to stay silent. It’s our duty—and yours—to speak up and take action.

Australians won’t stand by while our government turns a blind eye to war crimes. We will continue to raise our voices and demand justice. We demand that you take a stand against this injustice. Will you act, or will you sit back and do nothing while innocent lives are lost?

We expect a response with a clear plan of action. History will judge where you stood.
