Statement on Police Brutality Against Peaceful Protesters Opposing Weapons Manufacturers Complicit in Genocide

27 June 2025

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

This morning, peaceful protesters gathered outside SEC Plating in Belmore (NSW)—a company manufacturing components for F-35 fighter jets and other weapons used in the Zionist assault on Palestine.

These fighter jets are killing civilians in Gaza. SEC Plating is profiting from genocide. In response, NSW Police unleashed unnecessary and brutal force on demonstrators who posed no threat and were exercising their democratic right to protest.

We unequivocally condemn this violent crackdown. What occurred today was not law enforcement—it was state repression.

We hold Premier Chris Minns and Police Minister Yasmin Catley directly responsible. This violence happened under their leadership. The shame of today’s actions is on them, and they will be held accountable by the people of this state.

We issue a clear warning to media and political figures: do not use this incident to attack or demonise the movement for Palestinian liberation. Any attempt to shift blame onto those resisting genocide—rather than those enabling it—will be met with public backlash and moral scrutiny.

To those who were harmed today, including those arrested and subjected to police violence: we send our deepest solidarity, care, and admiration. We honour your courage, and we stand with you.

This movement will not be silenced. We will continue to protest genocide, resist repression, and fight for justice—here and everywhere.
